Proposition 34 talks about the death penalty and why it should be repelled. If the death penalty was legal and enforced in every state, it would lower the crime rate. People should be put in death row if they’ve committed murder, or if they’ve done other worse crimes many times. If they have committed rape or kidnapping many times, they would be put on death row.
If this proposition was passed, it would benefit us but also make things worse. If the death penalty was legal, there would be less crime and criminals would be more afraid of committing certain crimes. If it was illegal, the criminals that get sent to jail would have to sit in jail and think of what they’ve done. But if it was passed, prisons would become full and they’d have to make more prisons.
In my opinion, I believe that this law should not be passed because there are some criminals that just have no remorse for their crimes and deserve to die. It would help lower crime and possibly create better communities since criminals would not want to risk death by the electric chair or lethal injection. It might be better if the death penalty is still enforced.
