Middle Ages

If I lived in the middle ages like in The Canterbury Tales, my occupation would be a merchant. I believe I would be a merchant because I’d like to sell things to make money. I would live in a city like Paris where many people live. I would live in a building that’s on a street where many people walk so I can try to sell them my merchandise. I would have a stand where I sell many things like clothes, jewelry, and even food. I’ll sell any items I want just so I can make good money. Although I make money, it’s not a substantial amount to provide my wife and two kids. Being a low-class merchant isn’t exactly a nice, easy life. I have to struggle to keep my family well and out of poverty. But, there are others like me, some make more money than I do and others make less than me. I’m glad to not be at the lowest class of being a merchant. I don’t have military training but I do know how to punch someone in the face and knock them out if they try to steal my merchandise. My values in life are to live the best life I can with my family and enjoy the little things. I don’t want to wake up every morning knowing that I have to sell things the whole day and not get a lot of money. I always look at the upside in situations and enjoy what I can. I hope my children will take over my business when I die and be better merchants than I am so they will make the most money out of all the merchants in the world.
